Moving on to Forza Horizon 4 and here the 2070 is only just able to keep pace with the 1080 and overall performance seems quite lackluster despite pushing rather high frame rates at 1080p. I wouldn't suggest buying this card, but with all these issues. The 2070 targets the same segment but is reportedly 4K capable as well. I jumped on it early because of a good deal I was able to take advantage of, but had I known the headache I would be going through now I would have waited.

Comparing performance between the shows that the newer 1070 wins by a whopping 50%. Other Thoughts: I'm impressed so far.

RTX 2070 vs. GTX 1080: Should You Upgrade?

If you ever require technical assistance, please feel rtx 2070 to contact our technical support department directly at 626. Basically this card is total overkill for 1080p gaming at this point - if you're running 1440 however this is probably the best card you can buy right now. Make sure the rest of rtx 2070 system is up to par if you want to max everything out. Cons: This unit powered on and was immediately hit with artifacts from hell. Im talking entire screen unreadable. It's a shame too, considering it looks so cool. I suppose that is part of buying 1st generation anything, bound to be issues. We certainly value your feedback and please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenient experience. Even with a pretty hefty overclock the highest temperature I've seen while gaming is 70C. I've had it go as high as 75C while testing with Furmark. Everything I've thrown at it so far has run smooth as silk at 1440p. When the fans are running below 50% they're basically inaudible. If things really heat up and they start to get to 70% or higher, they give only the slightest hum. Very impressed with how quiet it manages to be. Like most recent video cards, while at idle the fans will completely shut off in order to be absolutely silent. Time will tell rtx 2070 it's able to remain functioning while being pushed so hard. Power limited to 114% and it hits this target frequently. This will probably only help to improve the longevity of the card, but feels like I'm missing out on some extra performance that's just out of reach. If you adjust some settings down it might manage to, but it seems to be limited by memory bandwidth at such a high resolution. Other Thoughts: I'm impressed so far. I skipped the 10 series due to high prices from mining inflation. I went into this purchase knowing the cons I listed when comparing this card to the more expensive versions and the performance I could expect from it. As drivers mature, performance will probably increase as well. It's very long, around 13 inches in length and very tall. It's always advisable to check clearance in your case to ensure a proper fit for new video cards. I neglected to do so this time assuming it wouldn't be quite as big as it is and had to make some quick modifications to my system to make it fit. Neither a pro or con, so rtx 2070 it in the bottom because I felt it worth mentioning. I'd very much recommend this card since it's quite a bit cheaper than the factory overclocked versions and overclocks quite well on it's own.

A couple of extra fps at 4K makes an appreciable difference when you're averaging under 60fps. But 1080p, perhaps with 'medium quality ray tracing' is a different matter. It has decent overclocking potential, it runs quiet, and temperatures under load are acceptable. So, the big question: How did it perform? Which is another way of saying that Nvidia appears to have achieved its goal.
